What is LRV? Click through for a full guide – this is an important system to understand for paint choices!
LRV stands for Light Reflectance Value. This is a valuable measuring scale that shows us the amount of light a color reflects… or in other words, how bright a color is. On a scale of 0-100, 0 is deepest black and 100 is pure white.
Natural Cream has an LRV of 64.78. That’s a perfect LRV that interior designers tend to love… staying around a 60 will give you a warm, cozy mid-tone wall color. It’s also wonderful as an accent color in a variety of spaces!

Tips
- In a north facing room (or a room without much natural lighting) you will see more gray undertones.

Hi Julie. I would like to use BM Natural Cream in my foyer and LR. Will that color pair well with BM Buttered Yam in my DR and BM Showtime in my kitchen? The spaces are all visible from each other.

My best advice is to buy some paint samples and test the colors you’re considering next to your ceiling paint, trim paint and cabinetry, and study it throughout the day in different lighting situations. I want to use this BM natural cream color in my upper kitchen cabinets but wasn’t too sure if it will go well with the two other colors I have in mind to use on bottom cabinets; those are HC-85 FAIRVIEW TAUPE and/or HC100 GLOUCESTER SAGE. What do you think? I need your opinion. Thank you.

What color walls do you have with your natural cream cabinets?
This is paired with Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace
Would revere pewter or natural cream be better on north facing cabinets in galley kitchen and doors throughout house with simply white walls and baseboard? Exterior doors are matte black with black trim so looking to soften the other accents. Have natural white oak flooring.

Those two options are quite different, as Revere Pewter has a lot more gray to it than Natural Cream. Personally, I’d do a paint sample to help you decide, as it sounds like both could be beautiful with what you’re working with thus far!
