Get all the details about one of my favorite cream paint colors, Benjamin Moore Soft Chamois.

I discovered Benjamin Moore Soft Chamois from one of my favorite designers, Phoebe Howard. I love how warm it feels, yet still very light, giving the illusion of space in our foyer bath and creating a relaxing retreat in areas like our master bedroom.
When we moved into our home, we had the entire upstairs painted Benjamin Moore Soft Chamois, and have never looked back! In fact, we loved it so much we repainted our foyer bath in it as well and I often contemplate repainting our dining room with it because it’s current color feels a bit too cool with its lighting situation.

This is one of the most versatile paint colors I’ve used to date. It’s a great fit for a lot of spaces and it’s so soft.
During the day it looks light and beautiful, and at night warm, but not yellow or dirty.
To help you decide which paint color is right for you, I’m breaking them down with pros and cons of each, where they’re best used, etc.

Hi Julie! I love the paint color on your kitchen cabinets and the kitchen walls. What color is it and who makes it.
Hello! You can find the details here!
Would Soft Chamois go with honey oak cabinets? The color would be in the kitchen and living room.
Thank-you,
Colleen
Yes! You can find all my suggestions for paint shades that pair well with oak cabinets here
Hi Julie!
Thanks so much for this article about Soft Chamois. I’ve used it in my daughter’s east facing room. Sometime looks slightly a very light gray. I had it mixed in the Aura paint formula. I’m not sure if that changes the color slightly. Which BM formula did you have this color mixed in?
[If you remember, that is as I know it’s been a while since the article is from 2020]
Thanks!
Using a different formula can change paint colors and undertones slightly (brands dramatically), but Soft Chamois does have a slightly dingy tone to it. If you prefer something a little “cleaner”, I highly recommend Benjamin Moore Simply White.
Great review … choosing between this and Swiss Coffee
How will this work with gray? We’ll see ….
Hi Helen,
Soft Chamois has slightly yellow and green undertones, which we don’t see much of thanks to the lighting in our home. It can definitely work to coordinate with some gray shades, though. I’d say Swiss Coffee will for sure work with shades of gray. We used it in our basement with cabinets painted Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray!
Thanks so much for your comment and question!
Julie
Would Soft Chamois look good as the exterior of a home. The home is Country French/european ? new construction
Hi Brenda,
It would be beautiful on an exterior! Keep in mind that it will appear much lighter in color for an exterior project.
Good luck – if you use it, please share photos with us, as we’d love to see!
Enjoy,
Julie
