Get all the details about one of my favorite cream paint colors, Benjamin Moore Soft Chamois.

I discovered Benjamin Moore Soft Chamois from one of my favorite designers, Phoebe Howard. I love how warm it feels, yet still very light, giving the illusion of space in our foyer bath and creating a relaxing retreat in areas like our master bedroom.
When we moved into our home, we had the entire upstairs painted Benjamin Moore Soft Chamois, and have never looked back! In fact, we loved it so much we repainted our foyer bath in it as well and I often contemplate repainting our dining room with it because it’s current color feels a bit too cool with its lighting situation.

This is one of the most versatile paint colors I’ve used to date. It’s a great fit for a lot of spaces and it’s so soft.
During the day it looks light and beautiful, and at night warm, but not yellow or dirty.

I love soft chamois, I’m wanting to re paint my kitchen my cabinets are like a Swiss coffee but light creamier. My kitchen walls now are a like a terracotta which is beautiful but I want a change. I don’t want boring but warm My trim is white , table white and chairs with light cane seats. Counter is called Taj Mahal. Floors are tile like a stamped light brown and beige and some cream. Right now I have a navy rug under my table which looks nice Do you think soft chamois would be warm I love what you do do on your blog to help my living room is frosted almond most of the walls except around a fireplace it’s stacked stone cream and painted around it brown and can be seen from the kitchen but not a open floor plan.
Hi Kathy,
I think you’ll love Soft Chamois. My best advice is to buy a sample and try it on different walls, at different times of the day.

Good luck!

Hi Julie! I love your description of Soft Chamois, but in my area I’m limited to Sherwin Williams paint. What would be the closest SW alternative? My house has hardly any natural light and I want to give it a bright, airy, warm, cozy feel. Thank you for your help!

Thank you for extremely useful post. After reading your post, I am thinking about painting Soft Chamois entire house (North, East, South facing). I need to choose the wooden floor that goes with this paint. I am thinking about French Oak Lombard flooring. Does this paint goes well with slight pink tone wood floor? or should it be yellow tone floor? What do you think about painting kitchen cabinets with this color? Thank you!
Your blog is so helpful! Thank you! I have a kitchen with honey oak cabinets and cream tile backsplash. I’m thinking of using Soft Chamois for both walls and ceiling to make our open floor plan kitchen/living area appear bigger. Is this color too dark for ceilings? Thank you!
Hi Jennifer,
We haven’t used Soft Chamois on ceilings, so I haven’t tested it! You could always ask your painters to have it lightened (try it at 25% or 50% lighter). That’s a designer trick to make sure your paint coordinates but isn’t quite as deep.
Good luck!
Julie
