Fall seems to be the busiest time of year – beautiful weather, back-to-school and an abundance of fall fun. I laughed at a Facebook post I recently saw where someone shared how they wanted to decorate for fall {an elaborate front porch} and how they decorated for fall {a mere pumpkin}. I’m sure many of you can relate. I love decorating for the seasons, but finding the time can be a challenge. Today I’m sharing 10-minute creative fall decorating ideas that require very little effort if you should be feeling like that lone pumpkin.
One of the most beautiful ideas is also one of the easiest – place 3 branches in a vase. Just remove the leaves that fall below the top of the vase, fill the vase with water, insert branches and enjoy the beautiful pop of color.
Create a pumpkin topiary. Trim the stems so that 2-3 pumpkins stack beautifully onto one another for instant fall decor.
Create a fall to winter planter using branches, pinecones, and antlers. Get the details here.
Personalize your pumpkins with a metallic Sharpie for a creative fall decorating idea.
Make a burlap table runner.
Create a 10 minute centerpiece for a beautiful fall table that lasts far beyond dinner itself.
Make a wheat sheaf centerpiece or wreath as a creative fall decorating idea for your doors.
Add fruits to a basic wreath. A basic wreath can transition with the seasons with this simple trick.
Add ribbon and corn or berries to the top of a picture frame or hanging platter.
Add nuts and a candle to a vase. This is actually from my last-minute Thanksgiving table a few years ago. Both whole nuts and pillar candles are easy to find in grocery stores around the holidays.
Make a dried corn centerpiece.

Julie, I love the idea of a burlap runner on the table. How do you wash if food gets on your burlap runner?
Honestly, I don’t! Somehow I’ve managed to keep mine clean, but at just $3 and a few minutes, I don’t stress if I need to replace it. I have made a few over the years in various colors and widths that I interchange. I use them on buffets and the piano as well. Enjoy!
Great ideas – thanks for sharing!
