Are you a fan of lil smokies? They’re my guilty pleasure at game day get togethers. Miniature hot dogs, covered in bacon and topped with brown sugar, what’s not to love? These prosciutto wrapped peaches are my summer take on the fall and winter favorite. They’re great on the grill, but even better in the oven, where the peach juice creates a magical sauce.
Yesterday, my sister and I took the girls and my nephew peach picking. We’re making an effort to grow a lot of our favorites in our own backyard so that the girls can see where food comes from, but we have yet to attempt peaches. I fear that they’re too low and will truly become a buffet for deer, which isn’t so bad, I suppose. So, we ventured an hour away to Belleville, Illinois to pick some pretty peaches for Grandma’s cobbler and my favorite peach ice cream. I love seeing how they’re more receptive to things at the farm than at home. At home, they always ask me to peel their peaches. On the farm, they gladly ate the skin without a second thought, devouring all but the seed.
Seriously, when did she get so big?

Anyways, back to #peachweek…prosciutto wrapped peaches. They’re easy. They take just 3 ingredients. They’re gone in minutes. They’re perfect for parties. Seriously, all around amazing.
Slice your prosciutto into thirds.
Slice your peaches. Wrap prosciutto around peaches and secure with a toothpick.
Cover in brown sugar. Feel free to be as generous as you want. I love using a half cup prior to baking and then sprinkle a little on for texture immediately after removing them from the oven. Cover, bake, enjoy.

Can these be served later cold (after being refridgerated)? I want to take them to work but have no way to heat them. I would probably need to serve them straight from the fridge.

Absolutely! Enjoy!

Simple but fantastic tasting. Your photos of your family and the dish are fantastic. Did you find that the peaches started to discolor or did you use anything to prevent that from happening?
Julie says
Thank you! No, not really! They come out beautifully as is. Enjoy!
