Get all the details about one of my favorite cream paint colors, Benjamin Moore Soft Chamois.

I discovered Benjamin Moore Soft Chamois from one of my favorite designers, Phoebe Howard. I love how warm it feels, yet still very light, giving the illusion of space in our foyer bath and creating a relaxing retreat in areas like our master bedroom.
When we moved into our home, we had the entire upstairs painted Benjamin Moore Soft Chamois, and have never looked back! In fact, we loved it so much we repainted our foyer bath in it as well and I often contemplate repainting our dining room with it because it’s current color feels a bit too cool with its lighting situation.

This is one of the most versatile paint colors I’ve used to date. It’s a great fit for a lot of spaces and it’s so soft.
During the day it looks light and beautiful, and at night warm, but not yellow or dirty.
To help you decide which paint color is right for you, I’m breaking them down with pros and cons of each, where they’re best used, etc.

Hi, I’m painting my open plan east. West facing home. My cabinets are very similar to simply white. I do see that yellow undertone in them. What color would you suggest I use for my walls that will keep it light and bright without the kitchen cabinets looking yellow. I’m trying to follow a glam farmhouse style. Thanks
Hi Christine!
Thanks so much for your question – unfortunately I cannot offer custom paint consultations at this time. My best advice is to buy some paint samples and test the colors you’re considering next to your ceiling paint, trim paint and cabinetry, and study it throughout the day in different lighting situations. Check out my guide to paint samples here!
Good luck, and have a beautiful week!

Hello there!
I bought a house that doesn’t have great light and am a busy mom these days, so I studied your article describing all the different “creams” and am deciding to go with Soft Chamois by Benjamin Moore as it sounds like a great fit. Can you recommend a classic white trim color that will go really well with this color? I also have white cabinets and will add more white furniture (bookcase/media center) so want to have it not clash with that.
I appreciate your response, and I appreciate the information you have shared!
Thank you
Renee
Hi Renee!
Simply White makes a great trim color and will give you a touch of contrast. White Dove would be another great option!
Good luck with your projects, I’m sure it will turn out beautiful!

Hello, I just found your blog and YouTube channel. I’m addicted to your ideas. Simply amazing!!! Thank you 😊
Hi Yvette! It’s so nice to “meet” you! I hope to see you again soon!
Why does our west facing, very bright master painted in soft chamois look mint green? Is there a way to stop this? Our furniture is on the yellow side. The carpet is a beige with green undertones. Could either of this be setting off the minty green? I wanted to love this colour but it’s terrible right now. Any suggestions?
Did you use Benjamin Moore base? Did you paint 2 coats?
We are painting our kitchen, dining and living room open floor plan. We have gold travertine and considering soft chamois. Would you paint the cabinets this color or go with white?
You’ll have to test to see how they play together.
