Christmas Brownie Ingredients
- vegetable oil
- sugar
- vanilla
- eggs
- flour
- unsweetened cocoa
- baking powder
- salt

I confess, for these images I used a store bought container of chocolate frosting! I know, I know. Here’s the thing though – you can make these brownies as simple as you’d like, or go the extra step and make everything from scratch. They’re delicious either way.
INGREDIENTS FOR DECORATING:
- Chocolate frosting
- pretzels – I used the traditional rounds, broken in half for antlers. You can also use stick shaped pretzels and create an antler shape on your own!
- Red m&ms – for noses
- Edible eyes – I found mine here, but you can buy them at most craft stores.

How to Make Holiday Brownies
If you’re new to baking, brownies are a great place to start. They are so simple to throw together, and they go in one pan with very little extra steps required. These decadent fudge Christmas brownies are no exception!
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease pan.
- Beat oil, sugar and vanilla, beat in eggs.
- In a small bowl, combine flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt.
- Gradually add into your mixture and blend well.
- Bake 40 minutes or until toothpick placed in the center of pan comes out clean.

QUICK TIP: I used my half sheet pan (18″ x 13″ x 1″) for these holiday brownies. I doubled my original fudge brownie recipe in order to fit in a larger pan and allow more room to decorate!
Struggling with doubling? Check out my free printable measurement conversion chart. You can also use the easy 1x2x3x tab right inside the printable recipe card – no math required!
Decorating Ideas and Tips for Christmas Brownies
This is where the real fun begins! I don’t know about your house, but this kind of project is where my girls really excel in the kitchen. They’ve always got great ideas and I know they enjoy having full creative control.
First step- slather that chocolate frosting on thick! I like the swirly, slightly messy look. This isn’t about perfection, it’s about fun!

Next, add your pretzels in pairs all over the sheet of brownies. These can go any which way and however the kids (or you) see fit! I just found that it was easiest to add pretzel antlers first, and then I added the eyes and noses.
Get creative here! Use fun Christmas sprinkles, powdered sugar to look like snow, or chocolate dipped pretzels for an extra dose of holiday joy!
These Christmas brownies aren’t about perfection, they’re about FUN!

I’ve made two batches of the peanut clusters. Since my daughter only eats dark chocolate, I made a special container of them for her. Delicious, easy and quick. Just what I like! 🙂 Thanks for the recipe!
Now for the peppermint bark!
