This creamy Jalapeño Dip is a quick and easy dip recipe you can make in minutes! It’s a stand out crowd pleasing dip that’s perfect for parties, tailgates and more.
It’s made with cream cheese, mayonnaise, jalapeños and Monterey jack cheese for the creamiest, spiciest dip ever!
This creamy jalapeño dip stands far above the rest! It’s melt-in-your mouth amazing thanks to cream cheese, which gives it an amazing consistency.
Unlike most jalapeño cheese dips, it’s NOT made panko breadcrumbs and parmesan cheese which gives it a grainy consistency. Just A creamy dip that you can’t resist served hot on your favorite chips and veggies!
It’s always a crowd pleaser!
One bite and you won’t be able to stop. Our friends beg for this dip…it’s one of those must-make dishes when we’re going to a friend’s for New Year’s, having Mexican night, celebrating Cinco de Mayo or hosting a casual get together at home with tacos!
I love to dip. In fact, I have a recipe round-up with over 30 easy dip recipes that you can’t miss! Save it for the next time you need to find an incredible dip recipe- you might even find a few new faves!
Why You’ll Love this Jalapeño Dip
- You can mix this up from start to finish in about 5 minutes (plus bake time)!
- You can make it ahead and bake it just before your guests arrive or put it together at the last minute.
- It’s gluten free and keto friendly, making it a great dip for entertaining.
The cheese and accompaniments help balance this spicy dip. To reduce the heat, you can simply reduce the amount of chilies or jalapeño peppers you use, but trust me, you won’t want to. It has such a delicious kick!

5 STAR REVIEW
“I was looking for the perfect dip for my party and made this… it was AWESOME!! I can’t wait to make it again!”

Ingredients and Substitutions
- Cream Cheese – This ingredient is the base of the dip and single-handedly makes this the creamiest ever! You can use low fat or whole fat, your preference.
- Mayonnaise – Mayonnaise is often used as a base for dips and helps maintain that creamy consistency. I like using olive oil mayonnaise for the best flavor.
- Monterey Jack Cheese – For the creamiest dip, use a block of cheese. It’s higher quality than shredded cheese and freshly shredding it prevents it from being dry. It’s worth the extra minute or two effort. You can substitute sharp cheddar cheese if you prefer but I love the color and flavor jack cheese provides.
- Chopped Green Chilies – Straight from the can! You’ll never notice the difference and they offer so much flavor.
- Diced Jalapeño Peppers – Canned jalapeños work perfect in this recipe and are soft and tender, perfect for dipping into.
Variations
- Add Garlic – Add a teaspoon of garlic powder or a tablespoon of minced garlic for a hint of garlic flavor
- Add Corn – Fold in a can or 3 ears of corn (removed from the stalk) to turn it into a spicy corn dip!
- Add Bacon or Chorizo – They go incredibly well in this simple dip.
How to Make Jalapeño Dip
The only difficult thing about this dip is waiting for it to bake while it fills your home with an amazing aroma before enjoying. Seriously, it’s so irresistible!
- Prep – Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Combine – In a large bowl, mixer, or food processor beat softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, cheese, chilies, and peppers until smooth.
- Bake – Pour into baking dish and bake 20 minutes.
- Stir and Serve. (Below is a photo just out of the oven, before stirring.)
Optional: garnish with slices of fresh jalapeños.
Tips
- Make it less spicy – Remove the membranes and seeds of the jalapeños to make it a bit less spicy. The membrane is the hottest part of the pepper.
- To remove it, cut the top off of the jalapeño, slice it in half longways and cut or scoop it out.
- For the creamiest consistency, always use freshly shredded cheese. Pre-shredded cheese (sold in bags at grocery stores) is covered in a floury substance meant to keep it from sticking, but it also prevents it from melting quite as well as fresh.
What to Serve Jalapeño Dip With
- Tortilla Chips – This dip is traditionally served with tortilla chips. The salt balances the spicy flavor of the jalapeño dip.
- Corn Chips – Fritos are another great pairing for jalapeño cheese dip and make scooping easy!
- Bagel Chips
- Butter Crackers – Elevate this beautiful dip by serving it with butter crackers. We love Toasteds. It turns the dip into a great spread.
- Fresh Vegetables – Broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, red peppers, yellow peppers, orange peppers, celery, anything goes! Serving it with veggies makes it a keto Jalapeño Dip!
Serving Suggestions
Of course we can’t stop there! It’s just that good.
- Add this to a burger bar to smother on top of a juicy burger and take it over the top!
- Use it as a topping on baked potatoes, mashed potatoes or scalloped potatoes.
- Spread it on top of chicken breast or fish (like salmon) and bake.
- Use it as spread on bagels and breads.
- Slather this dip on top of your homemade burgers in the oven!
- Add a tablespoon to eggs for an amazing breakfast!
Make Ahead
- Combine all ingredients and refrigerate until you’re ready to bake, up to 48 hours ahead of time. Serve hot.

- Freezer – I don’t recommend freezing this dip, as it will change the creamy consistency.
