Get all the details about one of my favorite cream paint colors, Benjamin Moore Soft Chamois.

I discovered Benjamin Moore Soft Chamois from one of my favorite designers, Phoebe Howard. I love how warm it feels, yet still very light, giving the illusion of space in our foyer bath and creating a relaxing retreat in areas like our master bedroom.
When we moved into our home, we had the entire upstairs painted Benjamin Moore Soft Chamois, and have never looked back! In fact, we loved it so much we repainted our foyer bath in it as well and I often contemplate repainting our dining room with it because it’s current color feels a bit too cool with its lighting situation.

This is one of the most versatile paint colors I’ve used to date. It’s a great fit for a lot of spaces and it’s so soft.
During the day it looks light and beautiful, and at night warm, but not yellow or dirty.

We have kitchen cabinets from Ikea, they are the Grimslöv in off-white, I would really like Soft Chamois as the paint color for the main area of our house where the Kitchen/Dining/Living Room area is but I am worried that it won’t work with the Kitchen cabinets. Any advice on that would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance:)
Hi! I think it would be lovely, but am unfamiliar with their cabinets/color. I highly recommend getting a sample and seeing it next to the cabinets.
Hi! If you have a moment – I’m deep down the neutral, whole house paint color rabbithole. You’ve all but sold me on chamois – and Maria Killam lists it on her list of complex creams with a green undertone but I’m glad you haven’t found it screaming green – we have one kelly green piece of furniture I was afraid may be a dealbreaker.
My question – does it read as just white? Your photos make it look like exactly the creamy whip I’m looking for. I thought I had one before for a smaller room and it looked just regular old cheap apartment white. Does this color clearly read as a warm, creamy paint with a hint of color in it? Thanks for your time!
Hi Sophia!
For us, this color reads as a true creamy white with no yellow undertones. I have never noticed any green in this color, but I know how much light can change everything! Someone recently asked this question in my Facebook group, Celebrating Simple, and there were lots of great comments there. You might join and see if that’s helpful!
Good luck to you with your paint project!

I am currently in the process of painting for resale. I’m looking for a color that will brighten up our basement with no natural light. All trim and woodwork is on the medium to darker side. I’m having a hard time picking out a color. Soft chamois? My carpet is cream and beige.
Soft Chamois is a great go to – it will appear larger, brighter, softer and warmer.
I used Soft Chamois for all of the trim and ceilings in my house. My daughter wants to paint her room a white. What color would look good on the walls with this trim? Should I use it on the walls too or use a different white color?
You can definitely do that – try a sample of Benjamin Moore White Dove. See this for example (paint colors unknown) https://www.pinterest.com/pin/418060777913383631/
Trying to decide whether to paint my entire house Soft chamois or SW Natural Choice. What do you think? I want something timeless.
I haven’t used Natural Choice but you won’t be disappointed by Soft Chamois!
