This is an easy six ingredient honey beer bread. We’re talking a true no-fuss recipe with no yeast – and you can even mix it up in the pan you’re baking it in!

It’s not a quick bread, but it’s not a sweet bread, either. It’s got a little garlic to balance out the honey, and it’s so good when you slather it with your favorite toppings!

Last week I shared my easy yeast dinner rolls, but if yeast intimidates you or you’re short on time, might I recommend my honey beer bread? It’s SO quick and easy to make, but always impresses guests. This is one of those recipes you can always count on being gone before your guests are.

It’s an amazing adaptation of my classic Beer Bread Recipe made in just a few minutes without yeast! You can get my complete guide to quick breads for more no yeast recipes.

It’s amazing on its own or slathered with honey butter. Either way, you’ll bake up this amazing recipe again and again. It’s a delightfully simple appetizer.

I love whipping up a loaf of fresh honey beer bread just before guests arrive before watching a big game or for Thanksgiving because it fills our home with the most incredible aroma! There’s nothing better than walking into a home that smells amazing.

Fortunately, my honey beer bread just takes five minutes hands-on time and one mixing bowl. No mess, no fuss, no yeast, just incredibly good, fresh bread.

Substitutions and Variations

  • Beer – You can mix this easy recipe up with your favorite beer or whatever you have on hand! My favorite beer for beer bread is an IPA for robust flavor. Get suggestions below.
  • Minced Garlic – You can use fresh minced garlic, but I always use minced garlic purchased in the produce section of the grocery store. It adds incredible flavor, without the fuss!
  • Butter – I always use salted butter in all of my bread recipes, but if you don’t use salted butter, add a little salt. It’s listed as optional in the recipe.

Best Beer for Beer Bread

  • Guinness
  • IPA
  • Farmhouse Ale
  • Pale Ale
  • Brown Ale
  • Belgian

You can use any beer in beer bread! Have fun with it and experiment! Each beer will change the flavor of the bread just a bit.

Lighter beers like Coors Lite, Miller Light, Bud Light, etc can be used as well, but aren’t as flavorful.

One of the many amazing things about this easy honey beer bread recipe is that you can mix it up directly in your loaf pan! Who doesn’t love a no fuss, less cleanup recipe?!

Variations

  • Cheese – Aged cheeses tend to work well with honey. Add 1 cup of freshly shredded parmesan, gruyere or cheddar to make a sweet and savory cheesy beer bread.
  • Herbs – Fold 1 tablespoon dried rosemary, thyme or sage into the batter just before baking.
  • Salt – Just before serving, brush the loaf with warm honey butter and use a grinder to add thick flakes of sea salt.

I loved this. Very easy, but.. make sure your baking powder is fresh. Haha. Otherwise it’s very dense. ๐Ÿ˜‚
