Lavender scrub is the ultimate way to rejuvenate your skin. It’s made with simple ingredients to gently exfoliate dead skin and moisturize with calming lavender oil.
Lavender body scrub will wash away your winter blues and exfoliate, moisturize and rejuvenate skin!
Homemade beauty products are quick and easy to make. It takes just 5 minutes and a handful of ingredients.
One of the greatest things about diy body scrubs is that the possibilities are endless! Some of my favorites include a citrus sugar scrub recipe, brown sugar scrub and a sugar lip scrub.
I’m transitioning from lavender mint to lavender and lemon scrub this month, with an added twist to alleviate my dry skin.
The constant change in the weather in winter can leave skin dry and irritated. This body polish has a refreshing scent that renews skin while adding a little glow.
Tools to Use to Make DIY Body Scrub
- Mixing Bowl and Spoon or Food Processor
- Airtight Container – Weck Jars or hinged lidded jars work well
Lavender Body Scrub Ingredients
- Vitamin E Oil – known for moisturizing, it prevents and treats dry, flaky skin. It’s said to be anti-aging, but there is little evidence to that. You can substitute with almond oil or grape seed oil which are available at your grocery store. Jojoba oil and coconut oil also work well.
- Sugar – white granulated sugar gently scrubs away dead skin. If you prefer, you can make it a salt scrub by simply replacing sugar with sea salt.
- Lavender Essential Oil – this calming scent promotes relaxation. You can substitute your favorite essential oil.
- Lavender Buds – optional for a hint of sweet fragrance, color and texture.
Optional: Lemon Zest – the zest of 1 lemon adds an additional exfoliating element while adding natural fragrance.
How to Make Lavender Scrub
- Combine sugar and vitamin E oil in bowl with spoon. Mix Well.
- Blend in lavender essential oils, lemon zest and lavender buds to your preference.
- Store. Transfer mixture into an airtight container. Marinate 24 hours.
Simple and sweet, that’s how I like it!
Tips
Do not use on face, which is more sensitive. Avoid sunburned, chapped or broken skin.
Use 2-3 times weekly. Excess use may cause irritation.
Apply in the bath or shower in a circular motion. Rise with warm water.
this may be a silly question, but with your orange scub, are you using 2/3 CUP orange essential oil, and 1/3CUP spearamint essential oi, or are you saying drops per each.. thank you..i would like to make for Mother Day gifts.
Not at all! 2-3 drops.
The link to the weck jars is not coming up. Could you tell me what size you use? I love your blog!!
I’m sorry, Susan, that happens over time as stores discontinue things. You can use any size. Lately I’ve been buying them at The Container Store and World Market. Enjoy!
Hi I loved your simple diy’s.. How often do you think it can be used or advised?
Thank you! If sealed in an air tight container, it keeps for a month.
So I’m wondering if I could just use lemon essential oil in place of the zest. Thoughts?
Of course!
