Great flavor—better than commercially prepared packets! And the ingredients are already in my cupboard. (Just remember that this recipe equals about 4 packets.)

My not-so-secret secret for the best ground beef tacos starts with traditional taco seasoning and elevated with fiesta ranch seasoning. It’s a delicious take on Hidden Valley Fiesta Ranch you can make at home – chances are, you have everything you need in your spice cabinet!

Ingredients

  • Dried Parsley
  • Minced Onion

It’s easily adaptable – make it less spicy by reducing chili powder by half. For less sodium, skip the salt.

  1. How do I make this into a dressing? I saw that you mentioned buttermilk but didn’t see how much mix to add. Any other ingredients?Thank you!

    1. Hi Carol!
We need to add that to the post! I would use 2-3 teaspoons of the seasoning mixture and mix it with 1 cup of mayo and 1/2 cup of sour cream.
      Enjoy!

Great flavor—better than commercially prepared packets! And the ingredients are already in my cupboard. (Just remember that this recipe equals about 4 packets.)

  3. I would like to use this seasoning to make a lower calorie dip using fat free Greek yogurt. Will this work? Is there a ratio you would recommend?

    1. Hi Kristina,
Greek yogurt is a great sub for sour cream! Although I’ve never tried it, it sounds like it would work. I would start with two tablespoons to every cup of yogurt (or mayo or sour cream).
Please be sure and report back if you have success!
      Have a great week,

      1. Will this taste like the packet? I’m just trying to figure out where it gets the ranch from with there being no ranch in the ingredients.

        1. Hi Hannah,
It’s made with all the same ingredients, just without the extra “fillers” and preservatives they use in the packet. I think you’ll enjoy it!

  4. I see several different mix amounts to use for the same items on your page. Can you let me know what amount I should use for the fiesta dip, and how much mix is typically in a packet? I can see different amounts listed on this page (anywhere from 1 1/2 – 3 T. Thanks!

    1. Hi Jennifer!
I apologize for any confusion. A one ounce packet of Fiesta Ranch contains approximately 2 to 2 1/2 tablespoons. Because there are some fillers in a seasoning packet, you’ll want to taste test and confirm that it’s to your liking! We like to use 3 tablespoons seasoning with a cup of mayo and a cup of sour cream for a traditional fiesta ranch dip!
      Thanks for your question,
      Julie

    1. Hi Judy!
The fiesta ranch packets have approximately 2.5 tablespoons – this recipe makes more than that, so you can store the extra for later!
I will add that info about the amount in the packets to the post to help others- thank you!
      Have a great week,
      Julie
