It’s peach week in our home, so I updated one of our summer must-have’s with new photos and step-by-step photos and details to prepare your own peach dessert pizza on the grill. 

It’s a great grill-to-table dessert and, in our house, we’re lucky when it makes it to the table, even if it’s made just feet away.

Last week I shared my pizza on the grill recipe, but no dinner is complete without dessert, right? That’s where this delish recipe comes in. On the grill or in the oven, peach dessert pizza is sweet and easy.

Peach Dessert Pizza Ingredients

  • Pizza dough – Make your own, or purchase it premade like we do! We buy the Trader Joe’s pizza dough, or grab some from your local Spin! Pizza or favorite pizza shop.
  • All-purpose flour
  • Vegetable oil
  • Brown sugar
  • Cinnamon – Ground cinnamon adds so much flavor
  • Butter – Salted butter is best here, melted.
  • Peaches – Fresh, sliced
  • Milk – (for the frosting) Use whatever you have on hand. We tend to have whole or 2% milk around here.
  • Vanilla Extract – Learn how to make your own vanilla extract here.
  • Powdered sugar – Learn how to make powdered sugar here in case you don’t have any on hand!

Variations

  • Use blueberries, sliced strawberries, raspberries or blackberries – any of your favorite summer fruits
  • Add chunks of cream cheese along with the peaches as it’s baking for an even more deliciously decadent treat!

How to Make this Dessert Pizza

On the Grill

  1. Roll out the dough and preheat the grill to medium. Brush the dough with vegetable oil and place the oiled side down. Pizza dough on a gold baking pan near a grill
  2. Allow it to cook for 3 minutes, while brushing the top of the crust with oil. Pizza dough spread out on an outdoor grill
  3. Flip the crust and brush with butter. Pizza dough spread out on an outdoor grill, topped with cinnamon and brown sugar
  4.  Top with cinnamon sugar mixture and peaches. Close lid and allow to cook for 2 minutes or until brown sugar has “melted” and dough is cooked.   5. Remove and serve immediately with icing.

In the Oven

  1. You can also make it in the oven!{eliminate oil}
  2. Preheat to 425 degrees.
  3. Roll out dough with flour and brush with butter.
  4. Top with brown sugar, cinnamon, and sliced peaches.
  5. Bake 12 minutes or until slightly golden.

Tips

  • Treat this dessert pizza much as you would a fruit cobbler! Try it with your favorite berries to mix things up.
  • Store bought pizza dough makes this so easy, but you can take an extra shortcut, too – and buy a pre-baked pizza crust!

Pizza dough tends to be more bread-like, and significantly heavier. Puff pastry is light and crispy. However, they are similar in both texture and ingredients – so yes, you can replace one with the other in a pinch!

What desserts can be made with pizza dough?

If you have excess pizza dough, consider making this peach dessert pizza, of course! You can also try biscuit donuts, monkey bread, and even cinnamon rolls.

How to Store

  • Room Temperature – this dessert pizza can sit out at room temperature for up to two hours.
  • Refrigerator – Store this dessert pizza in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 2-3 days. (It won’t be as good as it will right out of the oven, very similar to your restaurant pizza!)
  • Freezer – Yes, you can freeze your dessert pizza! Flash freeze it while it’s on a baking sheet, and then wrap in an airtight container or with plastic wrap. Freeze for up to three months.

Ingredients  

Dessert Pizza

  • 16 ounces pizza dough store bought or homemade
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour to prevent the dough from sticking as it's rolled out
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons butter salted, melted
  • 12 ounces peaches fresh, sliced – this is approximately 2 peaches

Icing

Instructions 

On the Grill

  • Preheat grill to medium heat.
  • While grill is preheating, mix your icing ingredients.
  • Roll out pizza dough, using flour to prevent it from sticking.
  • Brush pizza crust with vegetable oil and place directly on the grill. Cook 2-3 minutes or until it starts to bubble.
  • Brush the uncooked side of crust with oil and flip to grill it.
  • Brush butter onto crust and sprinkle cinnamon sugar mixture. Add fresh peaches, close lid and allow to cook for 2 minutes or until the bottom of the crust is baked through.
  • Mix icing ingredients, top and serve.

In the Oven

  • Preheat to 425 degrees.
