Skip tortilla chips and dip with Chocolate “Chips”! They’re always a hit. Chocolate Chips are luxuriously smooth and crisp and are the most delicious accompaniment for your favorite dessert dips!

Chocolate Chips give maximum impact with minimal effort. They’re delicious to dip into strawberry salsa, mascarpone cream, peanut butter dip and so much more! I use them to make a beautiful garnish for desserts, like chocolate mousse and marshmallow ice cream!

Use your favorite chocolate – white, milk, semi-sweet or dark chocolate to make the ultimate treat. Mix it up by adding thick flakes of sea salt, edible rose petals, or orange zest before it sets.

Chocolate Chips

Ingredients  

  • 12 ounces chocolate chips or bar, chopped

Instructions 

  • Prep – Line a sheet pan (that fits in your refrigerator) with parchment paper. Set aside.
  • Prepare – In a microwave safe bowl, add chocolate. microwave 30 seconds and stir. Continue to melt in 15 second increments, stirring in between each, until smooth.
    Pour melted chocolate onto parchment lined sheet pan and use a spreader or spatula to spread chocolate evenly between ⅛-¼" thick so it's thick enough to break and dip, but not overpowering. Transfer to refrigerator until set (approximately 15 minutes).

  • Remove from refrigerator and slide parchment onto cutting board. Using a pizza cutter or large knife, break chocolate into pieces. Refrigerate until ready to serve and chill while serving.

Julie’s Tips

  • Work quickly as chocolate starts to set in just a few minutes.
  • Spread chocolate evenly for an easy break and consistent chip.
  • Don’t spread chocolate too thin, so it can break and dip effortlessly. 
  • Avoid handing with your fingers to prevent fingerprints. Use a spatula to transfer, if needed.
  • Refrigerate until serving and keep chilled while serving.

Variations

Swirl 2 chocolates together.
Immediately after spreading the chocolate, sprinkle sea salt, orange zest, rose petals or nuts over the top.
