The Girls’ Bedroom Source List

Can you tell I’m feeling excited and accomplished? I wanted to share all of the girls’ bedroom sources and a few little cheats along the way. You can see how I selected the paint colors, how I planned from afar and get the details about their bedroom here, including paint colors!

For now, let’s get down to the details!

The IKEA bunk beds are inexpensive {$150 and relatively easy to put together {says the girl who enjoyed the lake while her husband and nephew constructed them}. I also turned to IKEA for the natural rug.

I stressed over what to put between the bunk beds – a chest, a bench, a dresser, oh my! I really began regretting that I didn’t take measurements before our last visit to the lake cottage, but it I took a chance on this beautiful dresser from Frontage with the encouragement of a friend and I’m so thankful I did. It was just the right fit, in the most beautiful French blue hue, with soft closing drawers and a plug in for accessories that makes it double as a night stand. It’s the centerpiece of the room. When we put it in the girls’ room, Chris asked if we could get one too. Win.

I searched endlessly f0r pretty bunk bedding, to no avail. I turned to the bedding I loved and vowed to make it work. I purchased floral duvets and tucked them in, but let’s be honest, I often go with the casual messy bunk bed look and with this duvet, that works, too!

The nautical sconces are actually outdoor lights that we had rewired. You can also make them plug-in sconces with this tutorial from my friend, Jen.

The subtle green nautical light fixture. I purchased it bronze {rather than black or stainless} because it appeared to have a little more texture for primer and paint to stick to, then I painted it a soft green.

Just days before I needed it, I commissioned an artist to create a beautiful piece from a map of our little portion of the lake. It’s even more darling than I had hoped for. I uploaded the artwork to Framebridge Wednesday afternoon and had a beautifully framed piece of art for the girls’ room by Friday morning, delivered to my doorstep!

I’m so happy with the completed space and am contemplating our next project – maybe the cottage kitchen? That’s what winters are for, right?
