Though I once owned a wedding and event planning business, when it comes to entertaining at home, I like to entertain more casually. I have found that guests love thoughtful details, but more importantly, a relaxed hostess. Today I’m sharing easy Easter table decorations and effortless Easter entertaining ideas.
Have you ever walked into a home where the hostess appeared frazzled? It can be contagious. No guest wants to feel like a burden, so I thought I’d share a few of my Easter entertaining tips with you today.
Preset the table. Not only does it make it feel full and beautiful {we usually have the girls set the table and just adjust before guests arrive}, but it eliminates a step later in the evening.
Pull out your silver and china, or don’t. Do what makes you feel comfortable. If you’re at ease, your guests will be, too. I have vowed to use our silver more frequently, using a set as our everyday flatware at the lake house and washing this set at home in the dishwasher and turning a blind eye to tarnish. It offers an informal aesthetic for a more casual approach to entertaining. I used our everyday dishwasher safe white dishes for easy cleanup.
Repurpose plants to create an impromptu centerpiece. I often pull items from around our home to create a last minute centerpiece and these herbs are no exception.
Your local grocer provides everything you need for Easter table decorations. I found these 8 beautiful carrots for $2.49 at Whole Foods. Grocers also sell cheese cloth {for a last minute table runner} flowers, plants, herbs and other beautiful vegetables {bibb lettuce, artichokes and radishes are also Easter favorites}. You can find all of my Easter table setting ideas here.
Include Easter activities like this word search to keep guests occupied while you’re putting the finishing touches on brunch or dinner.
Offer a signature drink in a pitcher for easy refills.
Relax and enjoy!
