Cool off this summer with one of the best ice cream cocktails – a Margarita Float!
There are a few things that make me think of summer – tacos, margaritas and plenty of sunshine. Thankfully, my friends share my same enthusiasm for tacos and margaritas and we’re sharing our favorite recipes with you today.
Boozy Floats – Summer’s Party Drink
Last summer we purchased a lake cottage and I frequently made mojito floats – a delicious boat drink that tastes as good as it looks. When my friends mentioned throwing a tacos and margs party, I started experimenting to make a margarita float.
A Perfect Summer Cocktail
Margaritas are Chris’ favorite cocktail and we love to cool off with them on the dock. After a few attempts, I perfected the most refreshing margarita there is – a margarita float that doesn’t require a mix, but also doesn’t require any more effort than a mix!
My secret ingredient? Lime sorbet. You can purchase it at the store or make your own {in just 3 minutes hands on time}. To be honest, I never knew I loved lime so much! I couldn’t keep my spoon out of the sorbet, or my mouth. A salted rim, tequila, water and lime sorbet and you’re on your way to the most refreshing cocktail ever.
One of the Best Ice Cream Cocktails
I taste tested a few to do my due diligence. As the sorbet melts, you get the most delicious traditional margarita there is, but if you’re impatient like me, just dip your spoon into the sorbet and get equal parts liquid and enjoy!
Do you love tacos and margs, too? What are your favorite recipes?
Pizzazzerie is mixing up her Coconut Grapefruit Margaritas, Inspired by Charm has made you Strawberry Coconut Margaritas, and if you’re into something skinny, check out Sugar and Cloth’s Jalapeño Margaritas. Of course you’ll need some tacos to go with them like Freutcake’s Fish Tacos with Coconut Avocado Crema and the Effortless Chic’s Build Your Own Taco Board {think taco cheese plate}! Enjoy!
