Is it me or is fall the busiest season of the year? Back to school, fun activities to squeeze in and shorter days. We have yet to go apple picking or visit the pumpkin patch for the quintessential fall family photo.

It’s the season that helped me embrace a minimal lifestyle and the courage to say “no.” It’s also the season that always inspires me to decorate, organically!

Easy Mini Pumpkin Centerpiece

This pretty pumpkin table runner, along with many of my flower and table setting tutorials, can be created with a trip to the grocery store.

This time of year, I have little time to make an extra trip, especially if I’m toting three pretty little babes along with me.

These pretty little mini pumpkins are usually available in the produce section of your local market. The girls love having mini pumpkins in their rooms and often decorate them, which would make a fun Thanksgiving after dinner activity before they are tossed in favor of Christmas decor.

If you don’t see eucalyptus at your grocery store floral department, just ask. These pretty stems are often kept in their cooler for making flower arrangements since it’s considered greenery along with the hypericum berries.

I tend to prefer low lying centerpieces to allow plenty of room for conversation without playing peek-a-boo around flowers.

  • Working up the stems, add additional stems at an angle until you near the end of your table.
  • Using stems of seeded eucalyptus, layer on top of the center stems, tucking the stem under the existing stems.
  • Add a mini pumpkin to the center, one on each side just beyond the seeded eucalyptus and stagger one near each end, leaving greenery beyond them.
  • Trim hypericum berries an inch or two below the lowest berry and nestle under two sides of your center pumpkin {offset}.
  • Repeat using just one set of berries under each additional pumpkin.

  1. 5 stars
Thank you for this great idea! It’s so beautiful, simple, easy, and elegant. I used your idea for Thanksgiving -swapped in red pears with stems and used small Mason jars with candles inside. Stunning!

    1. If you’re okay with the eucalyptus dry, weeks! Feeling fresh just 2-3 days depending on the humidity in your home.

  2. So natural and beautiful Julie – just like everything you do! I use eucalyptus quite a bit, but I’ve never thought to add the hypericum berries like that (might just have to try that now;)

Happy fall to you and yours!

  3. I absolutely love that eucalyptus and how and beautiful and elegant your centerpiece is – and I am all above doing things quickly and with ease! Love this idea so much!
