Easy French Toast

  • 1 loaf brioche 
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c milk
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1+ Tbsp butter*


  1. Whisk eggs, milk, vanilla and sugar together in a shallow bowl that will accommodate a slice of bread.
  2. Warm a thin slice of butter in a skillet over medium low heat and swirl to cover the skillet.
  3. Using a fork, quickly dip a slice of brioche, flip and place on warm skillet.
  4. Check in about 30 seconds to see if it's golden brown. Flip and cook until golden brown.

Recipe Notes

I like to quickly dip and flip bread in the custard mix which keeps it from getting soggy or difficult to work with. 

Each time you add toast to the pan, lightly coat with butter.

I like to use a little butter, a drizzle of maple syrup and fruit to garnish, but powdered sugar is also a delicious option! If you want a little fall twist, substitute salted caramel for maple syrup – you won’t be disappointed!
