Using a fork, quickly dip a slice of brioche, flip and place on warm skillet.

Notes
Mix custard in the dish you’ll be dipping bread in for easy clean-up!
Whisk the egg mixture ingredients together really well so that everything is well combined.
I like to quickly dip and flip bread in the egg mix, which keeps it from getting soggy or difficult to work with.
Make sure your pan is hot when you put in the bread for a perfectly caramelized French toast. However, the pan shouldn’t be so hot that it burns the outside before the middle has had a chance to cook.
Each time you add toast to the pan, lightly coat with butter.
I like to use a little butter, a drizzle of maple syrup and fruit to garnish, but powdered sugar is also a delicious option!
If you want a little fall twist, substitute salted caramel for maple syrup - you won't be disappointed!
