If there was ever a perfectly simple bacon appetizer that guests will love to grab, it's this one! Caramelized bacon skewers are so easy to make, and so incredibly delicious to eat.
Preheat oven to 400F. Soak wooden skewers in water for up to 30 minutes.
Line jellyroll pan with foil. Coat wire rack with non-stick spray or butter and place on top.
Wrap bacon around skewers or skew onto skewers like an accordion and place on wire rack.
Bake 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, in a medium sauce pan over medium-low heat, melt butter.
Add brown sugar and corn syrup. Whisk until bubby and sugar has dissolved.
Whisk in heavy cream and vanilla. Remove from heat.
Remove bacon from the oven and brush with caramel glaze. Return to oven and bake 5 minutes.
Remove from oven, sprinkle with sea salt and serve.
Notes
Spray wire rack to help prevent sticking.
Don't forget to line your baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy clean up!
Depending on how “done” you like your bacon, watch these carefully if you’d like a crispier finish. Turn and bake up to 20 minutes to crisp them further, prior to adding the caramel sauce.
