Tips and Notes
Mix The Custard Well - Be sure to whisk together the ingredients for the custard together really well so that everything is well combined. Make sure that there are no egg whites visible.
Don't Under-Soak The Bread - You need to allow the bread to soak up the liquid, so it gets a soft an custardy center. Let it sit for at least 20 seconds, and apply a little pressure with your hands to soak up as much as possible.
Preheat Your Pan - Make sure your pan is hot when you put in the bread, otherwise the custard will seep out. The pan shouldn't be so hot that it burns the outside before the middle has had a chance to cook.
Minimize Cleanup - Mix custard in the dish you'll be dipping bread in!
