Incredible pan fried onion dip recipe with caramelized onions, great for breads, chips and veggies

Pan Fried Onion Dip

Ingredients

  • 2 yellow onions
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 Tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne
  • cracked pepper
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise

Instructions

  1. Slice & halve onions.
  2. Heat oil & butter in large pan on medium heat. Add onions, cayenne, & pepper. Saute for 10 minutes.
  3. Reduce heat to medium low, stirring occasionally for an additional 20 minutes.
  4. Mix cream cheese, sour cream & mayonnaise until smooth. Add onions & mix well.
  5. Serve at room temperature with water crackers {my favorite!}, vegetables, and potato chips.
