Hot Cocoa Ghosts | Halloween Dessert

  • fudge brownie mix
  • 1/3 c heavy cream
  • 4 ounces semi sweet chocolate chopped
  • 3/4 c sugar
  • 3 Tbsp cold water
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/4 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • black icing in a tube


  1. Grease & line a 9" round cake pan with parchment paper {for easy removal}. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Prepare & bake brownie mix according to box directions. Allow to cool & remove from pan.
  3. In a saucepan on medium-high, bring cream to a boil. Add chocolate & let stand for 5 minutes. Remove from heat, stir until smooth & allow to set 5 minutes, then spread onto brownies.
  4. In a double boiler {or create one}, combine sugar, water, egg white, & cream of tartar. Beat 10 minutes or until stiff peaks form. Add vanilla. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  5. Pipe ghosts on using an icing tip & icing bag. {can substitute using a ziplock with a nip out of a corner of the bag. Bake 4 minutes. Create dots with black icing & serve!
