Easy Bread Pudding Recipe

Get the secrets to an easy bread pudding recipe you can make ahead. The custard bread pudding sauce is incredible, but the real secret is all in the bread. Top it off with the best bourbon sauce to give it that special touch you can share with all your friends!

  • 1/4 c butter
  • 2 cups milk (2% Vitamin D)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 loaf of brioche (about 7 slices) cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 1/3 c butter
  • 2 c brown sugar
  • 2 c heavy cream
  • 1/4 c bourbon or whiskey
  • 1 banana


  • Over medium heat, melt butter and add milk.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine eggs, sugar, and cinnamon.
  • Slowly incorporate warm mixture into eggs and sugar.
  • Fold in bread cubes and immediately put into baking dish/dishes.
  • Refrigerate until ready to serve, then preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Place dishes in a larger bakeware dish, filled halfway with water.
  • Bake covered 50 minutes for 9x11 baking dish or 35 minutes for individual dishes.
  • Melt butter and brown sugar on medium heat. Whisk in heavy cream and bourbon or whiskey.
  • Serve with banana slices.


Substitute rum for bourbon/whiskey.
Use fresh berries in place of banana if in season.
