Ingredients

Bottom Layer:

  • 6 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

Topping:

  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 6 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoons vanilla
  • 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar plus extra to dust

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper
  • Combine butter, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, salt, flour and baking powder in a mixing bowl. Pour into prepared baking dish.
  • Combine cream cheese, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla and powdered sugar and pour onto bottom layer.
  • Bake 55-60 minutes until it jiggles just slightly. Allow to cool. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve.

Notes

  • Be sure to line your baking pan with parchment for easy removal.
  • Bake in a pre-heated oven for the best results.
  • Don’t be deterred by the multiple layers, it’s an easy enough recipe for any beginner baker!
