Grease or line a 9x9” baking pan with parchment or wax paper. Set aside.
In a small saucepan, melt butter 2 tablespoons butter over medium heat. Reduce heat to low and stir in one color of Peeps until smooth.
Remove from heat and quickly stir in 1 1⁄2 cups Rice Krispies.
Pour into prepared pan.
Repeat with remaining colors.
Use butter wrapper to gently press for even treats. Allow to set 1 hour. Cut in squares to serve.

In a microwave safe bowl, add 2 tablespoons butter and 1 color of Peeps. Microwave 45 seconds. Stir and continue in 10 second increments until smooth.
Fold in Rice Krispies. Drop or gently press into prepared pan.
Repeat with each color using a clean bowl and spatula.
Use butter wrapper to gently press for even treats. Allow to set 1 hour. Cut in squares to serve.
Notes
Don’t heat the Peeps over high heat. If the sugar on the outside of the Peeps gets too hot, it will turn into hard candy when it cools—which means your Peeps Treats will be hard instead of chewy.
Press the Rice Krispie mixture into the pan lightly. You want to use enough pressure to get the layers to hold together, but not so much that you smash the cereal.
For perfect Peeps Treats, remove them from the pan by lifting the parchment or wax paper. Place them on a cutting board, then use a large chef’s knife coated with nonstick spray to make firm, swift cuts. If you happen to have a pizza rocker, that works especially well here.
