Window Planter Boxes

Things are moving right along at our house. This week, I’m working on planter boxes for the two windows in front of our garage. Currently, there are “shelves” to place planter boxes on, but after years of watering, they are completely rotted. I also want built in boxes versus something that I put them on. I love the charm that they add.

I love the simplicity and moulding on this planter box {via BHG}
This planter box has my heart, but I’m not prepared to spend $300 each {ours are 62″} not including flowers, inserts, etc. It’s available through Hooks & Lattice. The crown moulding at the top and the detail at the bottom give it a sophisticated look.
This planter {via City Home Construction} combines elements from the first two.
Of course Chris and I will be building our own planter boxes – we picked up supplies last night! While I prefer for them to be the same length as the window they are hanging below, ours will be 6″ larger on each side to conceal damage that the existing ones will leave. I’m already dreaming of ways to fill them for each season! To see all of my inspiration, visit me on Pinterest. Let Spring begin!
