More Time with Family

  • We recently took a 4 day getaway just a few hours from home. It was so nice to finally put work, housework and projects aside to just enjoy one another. The girls quickly embraced our little vacation as we explored the playgrounds, miniature golf course, lake and nature areas just outside of Branson, Missouri.

I worked hard to relax and enjoy our time together, overlooking every spill, slip on the grass and other things that generally make me cringe. We rode the ducks. We drove the ducks. We laughed, and I questioned why I thought taking 3 girls on this adventure solo was a good idea.branson-mo       IMG_0076Ani never hesitated to follow right after Adalyn…IMG_0058

I couldn’t get enough of the breathtaking views as the girls ran across the bridge for what seemed like hundreds of times. This of course, led to great naps –

Why does it always seem that the most fun is had when they’re getting dirty?

Miniature golf is all about teamwork. This reminded me of our family miniature golf outings growing up. I’m pretty sure my sister let me win every now and then.

But alas, the trip has come to an end, and so it begins again. Unpacking. Housework. Laundry. Our little getaway made me realize that our kids are growing up so fast and I don’t want to miss a moment of it. I’d rather be chasing them around the playground, exploring and seeing the world through their eyes than to spend countless hours on chores. {Wouldn’t you?} I’ve been seeking ways to simplify our lives so that I have more time to allocate to my family and less frustration. I spend countless Sundays sorting through each piece of laundry to pre-treat stains, set it aside for a few hours, return to it and wash it, only to find that the stains have just merely faded and I have to re-treat. This past week, I discovered Tide Pods, which are great because you just toss them into the tub. No pre-treating, no mess. They eliminated the need for a stain remover AND brightened our clothes and towels. They are detergent, stain remover, and brightener all-in-one. Visit them here for more information!
