I am going to start sharing more of my daily adventures and activities, as I find inspiration from all of them. This week, Adalyn and I spent a beautiful afternoon at “local” Powell Gardens. It’s just a 35 minute drive for an afternoon escape. The Fall flowers were just gorgeous. I loved the color ensemble circling the fountain below.
Adalyn sat down just long enough for a photo opp!
The fountains, ponds and lakes are picturesque. The lily pads were just gorgeous!
Overlooking the lake is a beautiful chapel, a great wedding ceremony location.
If you have time in the next couple weeks, I highly recommend you take a moment to enjoy Powell Gardens as the leaves change colors. It’s absolutely breathtaking. For more ideas of things to do with kids this summer, click here.
Update: 05/28/12 The Fairy Houses and Forts exhibit is up at Powell Gardens! We recently visited with family and Adalyn loved checking out all of the forts. Enjoy a few of our highlights.
The forts were scattered throughout the property and came in all different shapes, sizes and yielded different activities.
Above, the mirrored fort also offered a great tunnel! Adalyn admired her reflection – and new sunglasses.
Watch out of this pirate on Skeleton Island!
While she didn’t quite grasp the concept of taking her photo in the fairy, she sure had fun!
