Personalized Wedding Gift

Last weekend, our friends Ali and Jeff married in Kansas City.  I wanted to create something unique and personalized for them that would fit well in their home.  Ali has impeccable taste when it comes to decorating and as they combine their homes, it’s still his and hers.  I wanted to create something that will be theirs.  I found this beautiful frame at Pottery Barn and purchased a large sheet of book cloth at Paper Source.
First, I cut the book cloth to an 8.5 x 11 sheet.
Since it was rolled up, I needed to flatten it with a heavy book.  The Restoration Hardware Source Book did the trick!
Using this vintage image of the dictionary page on love, I added my friends’ names and wedding date {in Photoshop, but Microsoft Word also works!}  I printed it onto the book cloth.
Using the matte as my guide, I adjusted the image and centered into place.
I used just one piece of tape to hold it into place before putting it in the frame.  Any more and your artwork may not lay completely flat.

The image has been matted…
and framed!

Did you receive any personalized wedding gifts that you loved?  This would also be a beautiful piece to welcome your guests at the guest book or escort card table at your wedding and later commemorate your day in your home.
