A good photographer captures the moment, and often ones no one sees.  Below, the bride and her parents watch as guests arrive.
A Bride and her parents looking out the window.
Nothing replaces the moment when the groom first sees his bride as she walks down the aisle.
The groom smiling for a picture with bushes behind him.
This picturesque altar was created in the groom’s parents’ beautifully landscaped yard.

The flower girl {and daughter of the groom} and ring bearer enjoy a little fun!

Immediately following the ceremony, the bride and groom shared a quiet moment together while watching guests as they transitioned to the reception.  Looks presidential, doesn’t it?

While Katie and Bryce were taking a few photographs, the guests enjoyed passed champagne.  It’s one of my favorite elements of a wedding.  A little celebratory champagne {or passed wine} after the ceremony also alleviates an immediate line at the bar.
Glasses filled with white wine on a tray.
I was honored to share in their day and appreciated Katie’s impeccable tastes!

The dance floor was tented, draped and adorned with  gorgeous chandelier {to come}, creating a romantic ambience.

A large chandelier served as the perfect backdrop for their first dance and a great centerpiece for the evening.

I’m not sure which moment was my favorite of the evening-when the groom stopped during the first dance to give the bride a second band or when his daughter {who shared in the cake cutting} covered him in icing.  Both were priceless moments!

The reception took place around the pool.  Instead of covering the pool, we embraced it.  It was beautiful!  The fountains were turned on and bubbles were added to reflect the light.  Cocktail tables and boxwood garland were added to encourage guests to enjoy the beautiful Kansas City skyline.

Who doesn’t love live music for a little evening ambience?
