My Favorite Beauty Products

One thing I share little of here is beauty, but let’s face it, I’m not getting any younger and have been thinking about beauty products now more than ever. Everyone needs a good girlfriend to share tips and secrets with. This list is a collection of products I use daily, many that came highly recommended from friends.

No, my skin doesn’t always look that great…this photo is thanks to my friend and makeup artist, Amanda. She taught me the value of primer, using baking soda as a natural exfoliant, brightener and secrets about highlighting to make your face appear slimmer. She’s my go to for new beauty products and application tips as well!

My secret weapons:

The Mia leaves my face feeling smooth and radiant. I can’t live without it. I have one at home and another at the lake because, well, I’m worth it! And this facial oil? I love the compliments I receive when I wear it under my makeup. Like “your skin looks really great” or “you’re glowing!” As I approach 40, I’ll take all the compliments I can get!

As you may imagine, I’m a simple girl, but I love having something on my lips at all times. I don’t go without one of these 4 shades. It feels so soft, has SPF 15 in it and tastes slightly sweet. Win!

To fake looking awake, I use one of these two highlighters. I toggle between them because I really love the Saint Laurent, but you can’t beat the price of the Neutrogena. I always carry one in my purse in case of emergency. Or drinking wine. Either makes me look tired and one swoop of this highlighter and I feel bright and fresh.

For the times I don’t have time to wash my hair {#momlife}, I use this dry shampoo. It smells great and has the best dispenser I found. Sometimes I use it just for a little added volume, which I can always use more of!

I started using Aveda in high school {we won’t talk about how long ago that was} and still do to this day. Aside from how it makes my hair feel, I love the subtle scent. It makes showers feel like a day at the spa, even if I only have 5 minutes and 3 kids begging for me to get out and wait on them. These are a few of my favorites:

  1. Can’t wait to try a couple of these, Julie. Especially the facial oil…. My biggest discovery this year has been “Naked” brand color correcting fluid. If only I’d known about it years ago I would be a rich girl… my concealer purchases have been ridiculous! I have the pink but want to also try peach. There are several colors for several issues other than dark circles.

Lip crayon – Neutrogena – Fresh Papaya and Pink Nude
Mascara – L’Oreal telescopic – so far best I’ve found – also discovered the black/brown color is way less severe and more natural looking.
Blush – Bare Minerals Ready Blush – The One (nude pink)

    • You’re amazing – I can’t wait to check out the color correcting fluid and I always love new makeup! It’s fun to mix it up. Thanks for the suggestions!

  2. Anything by Pureology and Rodan + Fields!

  3. I love all of these! Aveda is by far my favorite shampoo and conditioner… smells so good!

  4. I’m a product junkie. That’s a convo for another day! Love hearing about what people use. (Fan of those tinted lip balms, too).
