MidWeek Fix Six: Waking Up is Hard to Do

I know it’s been a little quiet here, but I’m excited to spend the summer with the girls. We’ve been spending our days at the pool, lake and exploring all the family fun that St. Louis has to offer. We’ve also been sleeping in. Gone are the days where I wake at 5:30 to workout and squeeze a little work in before the girls wake and it’s been glorious. All too soon the girls will return to school and our schedules will resume. I have so many ideas, projects and recipes to share with you. Until then, I have a few things that I am so excited to share…

pop up camper renovation

Annie of Zevy Joy updated her pop up camper and it’s gorgeous! I shared it on Facebook a couple weeks ago and it has been going crazy since. You have to see it!

entertaining bloggers in Round Top Texas

Speaking of books, I was elated to get a sneak peek on my friend Courtney from Pizzazzerie’s latest book – Entertain in Style. She creates the most beautiful table settings! It’s filled with easy diy’s, recipes and of course table settings for every occasion. You can pre-order a copy here.

lemon asparagus pasta recipe for summer

On our trip to Round Top, Texas I had the opportunity to get to know Melissa of The Faux Martha. She is so sweet, and incredibly talented. I’ve been thinking about this Lemon Asparagus Pasta and her beautiful photography since. Maybe some day I’ll cook dinner again. When I do, this is at the top of my list!

I’ve been feeling inspired to decorate at the lake cottage and keep coming back to this inspiration from Pencil & Paper Co shared last year. It’s so fresh and clean, yet warm and summery. Everything about this space is perfection!

Could I just live in a Serena and Lily catalog? I love perusing catalogs, often over magazines because each page is impeccably styled and it’s more eye candy than reading. My favorite {free} catalogs for decorating ideas are Williams Sonoma Home, Ballard Designs, Wisteria, Serena and Lily, Restoration Hardware and Pottery Barn. Am I missing any?

I hope you enjoyed a few of my favorite things! What are you loving this week?

  1. That camper is incredible! I’ve never seen another like it ,wow! The lemon asparagus pasta sounds delicious,i love fresh asparagus.I also enjoy reading catalogues over magazines 🙂
This week I’m loving the fact that I have already taken 3 bags of stuff to the op-shop(that’s Australian for thrift shop) & I’m taking another tomorrow. We have way to much “stuff” for a small house & it feels good to get rid of it.I also found a great old framed mirror in a junk shop for $5 & a lovely big photo frame at the dump for a dollar.I don’t know what dumps are like over in the U.S but a lot of the dumps here have “buy back” shops where they sell all the good items people have thrown out.We don’t usually pay more than a dollar for anything 🙂 Enjoy the rest of your week Julie,i hope you have lots of fun with your girls xx
