Kitchen Dreaming

I hope you enjoyed a beautiful Mother’s Day weekend! We took a break from a busy week of house hunting in St. Louis to relax & enjoy some time at the park, followed by lunch at a nearby winery. It was much needed after 3 fun, yet stress filled days where we tried to narrow down the area & home we want to live in. It’s exciting to think of all of the new possibilities in making another house into our home. We’ve made an offer on a home, but have narrowed our search to 4. Our 4th house together, neither of us became emotionally attached during this search, so we have several possibilities.

As I dream how we can update these homes to fit our family, I’m sharing my Pinterest inspiration. Today, I’m sharing how I plan to transform dated kitchens into one I’d love to cook in!

give your kitchen a new aesthetic by refinishing your kitchen cabinets

Refinish existing wood cabinets to give them a rustic, yet timeless feel. New hardware, tile backsplash & marble countertops complete the look.

One of the homes had a lake cottage feel. I can only imagine how pretty these creamy green cabinets would look in it!

I also love these cream colored kitchen cabinets with a butcher’s block countertop, bead board backsplash & open shelving. This look via This Old House would fit both the house we made an offer on & the cottage.

add visual interest to a space with wood beams - it adds character & draws the eye up

I love the idea of adding visual interest to the kitchen with the addition of wood beams. It draws the eye up, making the kitchen appear larger. The cute platters on the backsplash are adorable too! {via Atlanta Homes Mag}

Better Homes & Gardens kitchen filled with copper, found furniture for cabinetry & all beautifully styled with a topiary & vintage art

This kitchen from Better Homes & Gardens uses reclaimed furniture in lieu of traditional cabinetry & is still one of my favorites to date! It’s styled  beautifully with copper, vintage prints & a topiary.

Classic cream colored kitchen cabinetry with brass hardware. Great mix of open shelving with cabinets.

I originally pinned & shared this photo when we purchased our current home. Little did I know how difficult brass would be to find then. Fortunately, just 3 years later, brass is easily accessible & I can incorporate it into our new home! {Image} This kitchen could become a reality! I can’t wait to get started!
