  • Make sure you use really cold heavy whipping cream. Store it at the back of your refrigerator for best results.
  • Put your mixing bowl in the fridge or freezer for a little bit before, as well. The colder your bowl and ingredients are, the more air will be trapped in your ice cream for a lighter, creamier finish.
  • Your freezer’s coldest area is probably in the back. Store your ice cream there for a quicker freeze and to store.

Tips

  • Cold Cream – Make sure the heavy cream is cold before you whip it.
  • Freeze Time – After two hours of freezing, the ice cream will be at a soft serve consistency, freeze it longer if you prefer it to be more solid.
  • Add Vanilla – For even more vanilla flavor add Vanilla Extract or vanilla bean.

  1. I grew up with my mom’s homemade ice cream too. I have her recipes although I have traded in the milk, eggs and cream for banana based ice cream. Still love creating new flavors though. Loved looking at all the different kinds of ice cream
