Add a pop and sparkle to your celebration with this fun and easy DIY craft, Confetti Poppers!
Confetti poppers are a fun way to add color and pop to any party. I happened to have some on hand for an upcoming project and decided to craft up a few for a last minute New Year’s Eve party for the kids.
As we tested them, Adalyn asked if we could have them for her birthday party as well. Why not? They only took a couple minutes and add a pop of fun! I was worried about Isla {our 8 month old} eating confetti that may get left behind, not to mention, I didn’t have any confetti on hand.
The solution? Sprinkles! We have an abundance of sprinkles from last year’s birthday cake.

How to Make Confetti Poppers
Really it’s as easy as can be! Just assemble your push up pop, fill, and add ribbon. These are really fun to customize for the theme of your party. I’ve done gold and black for New Year’s Eve and pink and purple for a little girls party. This is especially fun for gender reveal parties.
Decorate Your Containers
Another way to take your confetti poppers up a notch is to decorate your push up pop bottle. I like the minimalistic look and often settle for a single ribbon tied in a bow. But if you’re looking for more glam, try adding glitter, stickers, washi tape, or wrapping in craft paper.
Filling Suggestions
- Sprinkles
- Confetti
- Large Flake Glitter
- Sequins
Cleaning up Confetti Poppers
I did worry about the mess and clean up so I tested it with sprinkles on my countertop for easy cleanup…as you can see, they are PERFECT!
If you decide to use another filling, doing a small test batch for clean up might be prudent. Of course, just remember that celebrations are supposed to be a little messy! It’s part of the fun!
These Confetti Poppers are so fun to celebrate with. I’ve used them from kids birthday parties to New Year’s Eve Celebrations and let me tell you it never loses it fun. Other ideas include:
- Gender Reveal
- Birthday Party
- New Year’s Eve
- Anniversary
- Weddings
- Parades
These confetti poppers are relatively small, so they do not make a lot of noise nor are they particularly dangerous. Keep in mind when choosing the size of your push up pops as bigger tends to be louder.
and POP!
For the holidays, I gave these to teachers and friends as a fun way to gift wrap a gift certificate!

love this!! We are looking to do this for our gender reveal party.. Did you have a good experience with the company you bought these from? Also, will it shoot out just plain confetti paper when the lid is on it? Thank you!

I did Jess! That will be so much fun! It will! I recently made them with ribbon – they’ll be on the blog tomorrow. Congratulations!
