Dinner Party Ideas

I love entertaining, but owning a business, chasing two little girls and keeping up with my busy husband doesn’t leave a lot of room for extravagant get togethers.  Instead, I generally host just a couple of friends over for a casual dinner.  It’s stress free and a lot of fun!  Of course these kind of affairs are great because I don’t need to run to the store to purchase any flowers or decor – I just borrow from other areas of my home.  I hope you find some inspiration and a night to invite a few friends over yourself.

The boxwood below is from our living room {initially purchased at Michael’s for just $4}.  The copper tray is used in our master bath {originally purchased at Target for $7}.

I’ve had the postage tags forever!  I believe they initially came in a back of 250 for just a few dollars.  Today they’re being used as place cards, but they’re great gift tags as well!  The “tablecloth” is actually remaining fabric from the toss pillow I made for our master bedroom.

Fresh herbs snipped from the garden or remnants of what you’re cooking with always add a nice fragrance and decorative element at place settings.

You can never go wrong with adding candlelight.  It immediately illuminates every aspect of your table.  I keep several in the cabinets for quick use.  If you feel your table looks a little bare, preset wine and/or water.
