Before I start sharing our Christmas decorations this year, I’m excited to share where I received all of my Christmas inspiration! November was filled with travel. We had our annual trip to Big Cedar Lodge planned when Lowe’s graciously asked me to visit their headquarters in North Carolina. I couldn’t resist & wasn’t disappointed! I have been fortunate enough to work with Lowe’s for a few years now & was excited to see behind-the-scenes.
The event kicked off with a “train” ride to dinner. Garland, ribbon & plaid throws decorated the greenhouse tram. You’ll be seeing all of these {with the exception of a tram} in our home this winter!
When I arrived to the greenhouse bay where the dinner party was hosted, I was in awe. I was encompassed in a sea of poinsettias – it was breathtaking! Words & photos just can’t depict how incredible it was!
Bulb lights, Madeleine side chairs, neutral table cloths with plaid overlays, topiaries & poinsettias – it’s like the party was designed for me!
I have SO much more appreciation for poinsettias after visiting the greenhouse. Did you know that it takes precise “science” to get poinsettias to turn red? They’re naturally green. Several precautions were taken in planning this event so that the poinsettias wouldn’t be harmed {hence the black light}. Certain temperatures have to be maintained along with restricted hours of light. The process is fascinating! I also learned that poinsettias are not poisonous – it’s an old wive’s tale.
My table boasted unbelievably creative sand paper trees. But no event is complete without a group photo – of me looking awkward. My apologies Gina for blocking you! It was so much fun seeing old friends & making new, while connecting with the kind, generous & welcoming Lowe’s team.
I can’t wait to share my interpretation of these ideas with you as we decorate our home for the holidays! What trend are you loving this Christmas?
Julie
Very pretty…
I’d love for my home to look like that for the holidays!
