Boxwood Topiary DIY

I have been looking for the perfect topiaries to provide balance on the mantle in our new hearth room. I found the options below, but unfortunately, they were all out of budget.
After looking to recreate with supplies from the craft store, I decided that $18 in supplies/topiary plus the excessive amount of time involved to cut and insert that many stems of boxwood would be worth just purchasing versus doing it myself.  Fortunately, I found the below topiary for $12.99 at Michael’s {and had a coupon from Sunday’s paper for 40% off one item!}.
Using a foam brush {$0.14} and Martha Stewart’s acrylic craft paint in satin {$1.99}, I created the exact look I was seeking, for less!

Total cost: $11.50 each, Total time: 5 minutes for painting, Satisfaction 100%
