  • I’m in disbelief that it’s January and that we’re celebrating my sweet Ani’s 5th birthday today. It seems like just a few months ago we made her this teepee for her 3rd birthday. How time flies. This year was no exception, so when Cami of Tidbits asked me to join in sharing my top 10 posts of the year, I was excited to take a trip down memory lane. Last week I shared my popular organization projects and over the weekend your top 10 favorite recipes and today, I’m sharing the best home projects, starting with Ani’s no sew teepee!

    I was surprised that our classic kitchen came in at #2! I was hesitant to share because it’s unlike so many of the Pinterest and magazine worthy kitchens you typically see, but it seems I’m not the only one trying to make the most of what we have, maximizing the assests and minimizing less favorable features. If you’re hesitant to paint your cabinets, this post is for you.

    In our former home, we did a light kitchen remodel painting the cabinets, replacing the countertop and backsplash, updating appliances and finding tricky ways to maximize storage {like a trash chute}. It’s still at #5!

    One of my favorite projects of the year was installing a stair runner {from an inexpensive outdoor rug that’s soft!}

    In 2016 our dreams came true and we purchased a lake cottage. I’m reliving my childhood dreams through this bunk bed room I designed for the girls.

    After removing the foyer closet, we needed a convenient place to store throws, season pillow covers and games, so I repurposed my grandmother’s wardrobe  as a linen cabinet, which is the centerpiece of our family room.
