Our Bedroom, Decorated for Christmas
I love infusing a little holiday in each room of our home, including our bedroom. It’s a beautiful reminder of the holiday season to wake and find your room filled with hints of Christmas, including the natural scent of fresh greens.
You saw a few photos of our bedroom decorated for the holidays in our holiday home tour, but I wanted to share a few more as I contemplate how we’ll finish decorating our room in January.
I have a pair of antique nightstands in mind, but I have yet to locate them. I look forward to perusing antique stores in January when I have a little more time. For now, this little chest does the trick. I added a $6 poinsettia in one of my old terracotta pots.
Just past the miniature cedar tree planted in a brass bucket you’ll see the pencil sketch I made of our wedding venue.
Shortly after we moved in, I hung this simple brass chandelier. I think brass pairs particularly well with Christmas decorations. Classic pieces help a home transition through the seasons.
This fragrant wreath is a gift that keeps on giving – I just adore how beautiful it smells. It fills our room with the scent of Christmas.
You’ll notice that I didn’t update pillows and throws or add trinkets to decorate for Christmas, but rather kept our bedroom the same and just integrated a few fresh elements. It makes the day after Christmas a breeze!
The vintage rug was an Etsy find – you can learn about how I shop for antique and vintage rugs here. It will be even more beautiful once we have wood floors installed which we’re doing as soon as our master closets and baths are complete. There’s never a dull moment here!

Love the dresser under the wreath (and the chest!) – what’s the source for the dresser?
Thanks!

I like how you’ve decorated your room for the holidays. It’s the simple touches that can bring life to a room.
Now I want a little cedar tree in my bedroom! Beautiful!
Merry Christmas, Emily!
Nice! I saw your article on neutral paint colors. What color paint did you use for your wood trim in this room?
Untinted paint from Valspar. Have a great day!
Sorry Julie, one more question. Your untinted Valspar paint; is it semi-gloss?
Thanks!
You do inspiring work. I’ll click on some ads on your site because you’re so awesome. ; )
