Apple Cinnamon Rolls with Apple Cider Icing

It’s official! Fall is here! As the weather changes, so does my menu. I love incorporating apples into my Fall baking, especially after a great family outing at the apple orchard. Today I’m sharing an adaptation of Gimme Some Oven’s cinnamon rolls. They take less than an hour from start to finish, including bake time and are oh, so delicious and just as easy.

Ingredients:
1 c milk
1/4 c butter
3 1/2 c flour
1/4 c sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 envelope quick rise yeast
1 egg
Filling Ingredients:
1/2 c sugar
1/2 c packed brown sugar
3 Tbsp cinnamon
1/2 c butter, melted
Icing:
2 Tbsp butter, melted
3 Tbsp apple cider {or apple juice}
1 c powdered sugar
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Combine 1 cup milk and 1/4 c butter. Melt in microwave in 20 second intervals until butter is melted.
In stand mixer with the hook attachment, add 3 c flour, yeast, sugar and salt and stir to combine.
Add egg and milk/butter mixture and beat with hook on medium-low until combined. Add 1/4 c flour, stir and an additional 1/4 c flour.
Scrape down the sides and mix for 5 minutes.
Cover dough with a damp towel and allow to rest for 10 minutes.
Place your dough ball on a floured work surface.
Roll out dough to a large rectangle with a floured rolling pin.
Mix cinnamon, sugars and melted butter.

Spread over the dough.

Dice a cup of apples {2 average size, 3 family day of apple picking size}
and sprinkle over your dough.
Roll your dough and press the edge to seal. Using kitchen scissors, cut the ends off and cut into 11 even pieces. Place in a greased pie plate. Bake 20 minutes or until the rolls are golden and cooked through. Allow to cool.
Icing:
2 Tbsp butter, melted
3 Tbsp apple cider
1 c powdered sugar
Mix well and coat warm cinnamon rolls.
