Abigail’s | Rocheport Missouri

When Chris and I recently visited Hermann, Missouri, we stopped by one of our favorite spots on the way home – Abigail’s.  We attended Mizzou, just 20 minutes East of beautiful Rocheport, Missouri.  It was often a little afternoon getaway for us spent biking, antiquing, and eating.  For special occasions, we would visit unassuming Abigail’s for a meal to remember.  A quaint space nestled in the downtown valley of both dilapidated and restored homes, this restaurant was just one of a few for the area.  However, after opening in 1996, it quickly became a destination itself.

I love dining at places that inspire me.  On our most recent visit, we ordered butternut squash ravioli topped with apple puree, almonds, blue cheese and browned butter.  I have made homemade butternut squash ravioli, but had never served it this way.  I can’t wait to try it this Fall!
Remember my ham & harvarti on pretzel bread recipe?  It was inspired by their other restaurant concept in Columbia, Missouri.  I love that this turkey and apple on pretzel bread was served with fresh chunky marinated tomatoes.

Susan and Todd are the husband and wife duo who make you feel right at home.  Susan prepares some of the most amazing desserts I’ve ever head and she serves while Todd cooks.  It’s the only restaurant I have been to where the menu {which changes daily} is brought to you on a white board.  As you can see, it’s an eclectic ambiance that offers limited seating.  If you have the opportunity to go, make reservations!
