Strawberry Pinot Reduction

Strawberries pair well with Pinot Noir as well as ice cream, but would you have guessed that together they make a lethally delicious trio?  

1/2 cup strawberries, sliced thin
1/2 cup Pinot Noir
1/2 cup sugar
In a sauce pan on medium, add strawberries sliced thin, wine and sugar.  Reduce.  As with any reduction, the longer you cook it, the thicker and more syrupy it gets.  Top with your ice cream and serve immediately {as you can see, it will melt rather quickly!}  I served it with simple homemade vanilla ice cream.  It doesn’t get better than that!
